Dr. Ding has pioneered innovative drug discovery approaches to stem cell biology and therapeutics. He is the William K. Bowes, Jr. Distinguished Investigator and Professor at Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, and Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco, as well as the inaugural dean of the school of pharmaceutical sciences at Tsinghua Unviersity in China. He obtained his B.S. in chemistry with honors from Caltech and a Ph.D. in chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute. Dr. Ding has published more than 100 research articles, reviews and book chapters, and made several seminal contributions to the stem cell field. He is a cofounder of Fate Therapeutics, Stemgent, Curegenix, and Tenaya.
