Dr. Guan is a Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology at University of Calfornia, San Diego, and a pioneer in cancer signaling pathways. The former MacArthur Fellow has identified and characterized key regulations in the mTOR and YAP pathways, which play important roles in the development and treatment of cancer. Dr. Guan is co-founder of OncoImmune, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that is actively engaged in the discovery and development of drugs for cancer and autoimmune disease. He earned a B.S. from Hangzhou University and doctorate from Purdue University, and has won numerous honors, including the Young Investigator Award from American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Distinguished Alumni Award from Purdue University. Dr. Guan was elected as fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2008 for his pioneering contribution to cell biology and signal transduction.
